Home Alone-ish
Today is a strange one. My poor husband has been dragged into the office for one of those corporate fun days because nothing is more fun than having to get up at 5am so you can spend three hours travelling. He's obviously having a far worse time of it than me but it's so weird for the house to be this quiet and to not wake up hearing the usual soundtrack of Dutch babbling. Also, having to make my own coffee is just bizarre 😂
So, until he gets home it's just me and the cats. They seem fine, I am concerned that they'll be harassing me at 5am tomorrow for their breakfast because it apparently worked today. I'm very grateful that I have my two little velcro cats to keep me company.
I also have my new phone to play with, it's a Samsung S26 in Cobalt Violet ("blurple" would be more accurate) to replace my S22 that just wouldn't hold a battery charge for very long. It does feel a lot snappier in use than the old phone but that might just be because it isn't weighed down by a few thousand cat photos - it took 45 minutes to transfer those files to my PC when I was backing everything up 😂
For now, I'm just going to wait for my morning meds to kick in so I'm semi-human, definitely not order silly Starbucks breakfast because I was left unsupervised and then try to keep myself busy. Hope you have a lovely day too ❤️
Update: Yeah, I ordered the silly Starbucks - I don't know what they do to their porridge but the creamy / crunchy texture just does it for me. Also, look: even on this gloomy spring day, I got some flowers (also an almond croissant for tomorrow's breakfast!)
